Elias Damianakis is Director and founder of The Icon Fund. After graduating in 1984, he was employed as a conservator in various conservation laboratories, art galleries, and Studios of Contemporary Iconography . During this period Elias saw an increasing demand for the restoration of Icons to a museum standard for private individuals, small museums and galleries and the burgeoning Orthodox Icon art market. In 1991 he founded The Icon Fund which catered for museum standard conservation for the private sector.
